On August 9th, 2024, at the Paris Olympic Games, four boxing finals took place. New Olympic champions were crowned in two men's weight categories — up to 71 kg and up to 92 kg, as well as in two women's categories — up to 50 kg and up to 66 kg.
In both men's weight categories, representatives of Uzbekistan won, while among women, athletes from China and Algeria were victorious.
Overall, Uzbekistan has already won three gold medals in boxing, with two more finals ahead featuring Abdumalik Khalokov (57 kg) and Bakhodir Jalolov.
In the 71 kg weight category, the Olympic champion became the current world champion, 23-year-old Asadkhudja Muydinhujaev from Uzbekistan, who defeated Mexican Marco Verde by unanimous decision. These were his first Olympic Games.
