On July 30, the fourth day of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris took place, with 11 sets of medals awarded in 8 sports. Japan has maintained its lead in the medal standings for the third consecutive day.
This day was historic for Guatemala. Shooter Jean-Pierre Brol Cardenas won the bronze medal, marking the third Olympic medal in the country's history. Previously, two medals were won at the 2012 Olympics in London: the same Jean-Pierre Brol Cardenas won bronze, and Erick Barrondo won silver in the 20 km race walk.
The US team has already won 26 medals, but only 4 of them are gold, while Japan confidently leads with 7 gold medals.
A total of 56 sets of medals out of 329 have been awarded. Already 21 countries have won at least 1 gold — at the Tokyo Olympics, there were 65 such countries.
