Weightlifter Samvel Gasparyan has undergone surgery. During the World Cup in Phuket Gasparyan suffered an injury to the cruciate ligaments of his knee and has already successfully undergone surgery.
"I had an operation because I got injured at the World Cup. I had surgery on my knee cruciate ligaments and meniscus. My thigh muscle was also injured," Samvel Gasparyan told Armenpress.
Samvel Gasparyan competed at the World Cup 2024 in Phuket on 8 April. Then he took part only in the snatch, and did not go to the snatch exercise. Another representative of Armenia Garik Karapetyan took the second place and won the Olympic quota.
