The Armenian national basketball team secured a victory over Ireland in a tense match and became the champion of the International Tournament held in Los Angeles. The final match ended with a score of 92:91 in favor of the Armenian team.
The outcome of the match was decided in the last seconds. With 13 seconds remaining until the end of the game, Armenia was leading by one point and had possession, which would have allowed them to calmly secure the win. However, the ball was lost in an unexpected turnover. The Irish team got an excellent chance to win the match, needing just one successful attack in those 13 seconds. But the Armenian team managed to defend successfully and held on to their victory.
The best player of the match was the captain of the Armenian team, Andre Spight-Mkrtchyan, who achieved a double-double, scoring 26 points, grabbing 10 rebounds, and making 5 assists.
Connor Essegian also stood out by adding 20 points and making 6 assists. His three-point play in the final minutes became decisive in the match.
