Armenian representative Seyran Kirakosyan (110 kg) reached the final of the Junior European Championship (U17) in Greco-Roman wrestling.
In the semifinals, the Armenian wrestler defeated Bulgarian Denis Lazarov with a touchdown result. Kirakosyan was losing 2-8, but made a 5-point shot and fixed the opponent. The referee stopped the fight, awarding the victory to Seyran Touche.
Among his previous tournament wins were victories over Fernando Decency (Germany) with a score of 5-2 and Petros Kurginyan (Russia) 9-0.
Tomorrow, on June 25, the Armenian wrestler will face Ukrainian Ivan Yankovsky in the final. This will be the only final match involving an Armenian athlete tomorrow, when three more wrestlers will fight in matches for consolation prizes, as well as wrestlers in other weight categories (45, 51, 60, 71 and 92 kg) will begin their performances.
