From 22 to 26 May, Lima, the capital of Peru, will host the 2024 World Under-17 Weightlifting Championships. Armenia will be represented by 6 boys and 1 girl.
A total of 284 weightlifters from 51 countries will compete at the tournament in Peru. Peru has the largest number of participants (19), Mexico 18, Colombia 15, Venezuela 14, Turkey 12, USA and Taiwan 11 each.
Armenia's national team includes reigning U17 World and European champion Serezha Barseghyan (changed weight class from 67kg to 73kg), World Cup silver medallist Gagik Mkrtchyan (+102kg), who will again compete against Georgian Irakli Vekua, and U17 European champion Valerik Movsisyan.
