Simon Simonyan (48 kg) brought Armenia the first gold at the European U16 Boxing Championship, held in Sarajevo.
In the final, the Armenian boxer defeated Azerbaijani Nihat Gasimov by unanimous decision. Simonyan was better than his opponent in all three rounds and got a very convincing victory.

During the tournament, Simon Simonyan scored three more victories over representatives of Greece, Moldova and Israel.
Earlier, Suzanna Ishkhanyan (46 kg) became the silver medalist at the tournament in Saraevao, Armenia has 7 more finals ahead. The list of finalists is HERE.
