Today, August 7, the draw for freestyle wrestling at the Olympic Games took place. The grids in the weight categories up to 57 and 86 kg in this type of wrestling have become known.
In the weight category up to 57 kg, the competition grid has undergone changes due to the withdrawal of Stefan Micic. Now the grid is divided between Japanese Rei Higuchi and Arsen Arutyunyan. The Japanese will meet Iranian Alireza Sarlak in the 1/8 finals. After that, the Japanese will face serious opponents only in the semi-finals.
Arsen Arutyunyan will be against Mexican Roman Bravo Yang in the first fight. In the 1/4 finals, his opponent will be the winner of the pair Abdullaev - Rzazade. In the semi-finals, a meeting with American Spencer Lee is expected.
In the weight category up to 86 kg, the 1/8 finals will feature the world championship medalist from Kazakhstan Azamat Dauletbekov and American Aaron Brooks. Other interesting fights are expected only from the 1/4 finals.
