Today, August 8, the draw for freestyle wrestling at the Olympic Games took place. The grids in the 74 and 125 kg weight categories in this type of wrestling have been announced.
The 74 kg weight category promises to be extremely tense. The situation in one part of the grid looks calmer than in the other. In the left part, the main event will be the confrontation in the 1/16 finals between Italian Franc Chamizo and Iranian Aliakbar Emamichogay.
In the right part of the grid, everything is much more complicated. In the 1/16 finals, two Dagestani wrestlers will meet, representing different countries: Razambek Zhamalov from Uzbekistan and Magomedkhabib Kadimagomedov from Belarus. The winner of this pair will fight with another Dagestani - Taimuraz Salkazanov, representing Slovakia. In the 1/8 finals we can expect exciting fights:
European Champion from Greece Giorgos Kouyumtsidis against Asian medalist from Tajikistan Viktor Rassadin.
Ossetian wrestler, competing for Albania, Chermen Valiev against Azerbaijani Turan Bayramov.
In the weight category up to 125 kg, everything is more or less calm so far, and interesting fights will begin only from the 1/4 finals.
