On August 8, Croatian club Osijek played against Azerbaijani club Zira in the third round of the Conference League qualifiers.
Osijek drew 1:1 in their home game. Anton Matkovic put the hosts ahead in the 38th minute, but the Azerbaijani team equalized in the 96th minute with a penalty.
Armenian national team defender Styopa Mkrtchyan was in the starting lineup for Osijek but had to leave the field in the 60th minute due to muscle pain in his leg. He limped off the field.
The return match between these teams will take place on August 15.
