On August 7, the third day of the wrestling competitions at the 2024 Olympic Games continues in Paris. Today, athletes compete in the 67 and 87 kg weight categories in Greco-Roman wrestling, as well as 53 kg in women's wrestling.
In the 1/8 finals of the 87 kg weight category, Arkadiusz Kulinicz of Poland met with the reigning world champion in this weight category, Turkish wrestler Ali Cengiz. The Turkish wrestler was considered the favorite in the fight, but the Pole had his own plans. At the beginning of the second period, the score was 3:1 in favor of Cengiz, but Kulinicz quickly changed the situation by making a 4-point throw. As a result, the fight ended with a score of 5:3 in favor of the Pole, and the Turkish favorite dropped out of the fight for gold.
