Nine U.S. female athletes will compete in the upcoming Poland Open wrestling competition in Poland, including three members of the U.S. Olympic team - Sarah Hildebrandt, Dom Parrish and Helen Maroulis.
The Poland Open, which will be held June 20-22, will be the last preparatory competition for Hildebrandt, Parrish and Maroulis before taking to the mat at the Olympic Games in Paris, France, this August.
Maroulis, who will compete in the 57 kg weight class in Warsaw, is one of the most decorated American wrestlers in history, both men's and women's: she is a two-time Olympic medalist and seven-time world championship medalist. She won gold at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and bronze at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan. She became the first American to win an Olympic gold medal in wrestling and the first to win two Olympic medals in wrestling.
Hildebrandt was on the Tokyo Olympic team along with Maroulis and won a bronze medal in the 50 kg weight class. She has competed in four World Championships - two silver medals and two bronze medals. Hildebrandt has been ranked No. 1 in the U.S. women's 50kg since 2020 and is one of the top favorites to medal in Paris.
Parrish is new to the Olympic scene, but she has competed at multiple World Championships for Team USA, including a gold medal in 2022. In Warsaw, she will represent the U.S. at 53 kg.
