In the first match of the second qualifying round of the Conference League, Yerevan football club Urartu suffered a 1-5 defeat against Czech club Banik (Ostrava). The match took place in the Czech Republic, and Banik demonstrated its dominance throughout the game.
The match started tensely, and already in the 15th minute, Banik's player Everton opened the scoring by netting the first goal. Seven minutes later, in the 22nd minute, Jiri Bulas doubled the hosts' lead. Four minutes later, in the 26th minute, David Buchta made the score 3-0. After the break, Banik continued its attack, and in the 62nd minute, Erik Prekop scored the fourth goal. Shortly before the end of the match, in the 82nd minute, Irzi Klima made the score a crushing 5-0.
Urartu managed to avoid a complete defeat thanks to a goal by Gevorg Tarakhchyan, who scored in the 90+4 minute after a pass from Mikael Mirzoyan, setting the final score at 5-1.

However, there was an incident that further complicated the situation for the Yerevan team. In the 78th minute, Urartu's Jirair Margaryan received a red card and was sent off the field.
The return match will take place on August 1 in Yerevan, where Urartu will try to recover and show their best side in front of their fans.
