Oleksandr Usyk (22-0) became the undisputed world heavyweight champion. The undefeated Ukrainian boxer defeated the previously undefeated Englishman Tyson Fury (34-1-1) by a split decision of judges and became the owner of all five championship belts (WBA, WBC, WBO, IBO, IBF).
Judges' scores: 115-112 (Usyk ), 114-113 (Usyk ), 113-114 (Fury) in favour of Alexander Usyk. Fury was knocked down in the 9th round, which decided the outcome of the fight in the eyes of the judges.
Tyson Fury had a good middle of the fight - from 4 to 8 rounds, but then the Ukrainian added to it and sent Fury into a heavy knockdown in the ninth round, Tyson was saved only by the gong. But the Gypsy King incredibly managed to recover and imposed the fight in the remaining three rounds, but it was not enough.
According to the original agreement in the case of a split decision - there should be an immediate rematch. So we are waiting for another epic confrontation between two great boxers of our time.
