Armenian national team midfielder Vahan Bichakhchyan answered questions about his departure from the club after the last match of the season in the Polish championship.
Earlier, various sources reported that Pogon wanted to sell Bichakhchyan favourably this summer in order to improve the financial situation, as the team failed to qualify for the European cups based on the season results.
However, Vahan Bichakhchyan denied these rumours, but still the question of a possible transfer is still open.
‘I don't have that information. I don't know who is talking about it, and I really can't say anything because I don't have information on this matter. Right now I have two matches for the national team. You felt that this could be the last match, I feel that the next match here is in two months. I like playing here because it's always a good atmosphere. The new season starts at the end of July and we'll see what happens by then.
Nobody can say it was a good season. We all know we could have done more. Today's win was important to start preparing for the new season with a good mood,’ Vahan Bichakhchyan said after the match against Gornik.
Vahan Bichakhchyan played 65 minutes against Gornik and left the pitch to applause.
In the 2023/24 season, Vahan Bichakhchyan scored 6 goals and made 4 assists in 41 matches in all tournaments. ‘Pogoń’ finished in 4th place in the Polish Ekstrakals and lost in the Polish Cup final, failing to qualify for the European Cup.
He will play in Armenia's national team against Slovenia on 4 June and against Kazakhstan on 7 June.
