Armenian athlete Vachagan Hovhannisyan became the world arm wrestling champion for the first time in his career. At the 2024 World Championship, held in Chișinău, Vachagan reached the final, where he defeated an athlete from Kazakhstan.
Another Armenian arm wrestler, Azat Srapyan, took 3rd place in the same weight category.
