The Olympic wrestling competitions kicked off in Paris on August 5. In the 1/8 finals of the 60 kg weight category, Venezuelan wrestler Rayber Rodriguez met the favorite for Olympic gold, world championship medalist from Azerbaijan Murad Mamadov. At the end of the second period, Rayber had a 5-point advantage, but at the end of the match, Murad was able to join the fight and earned 4 points. However, there was not enough time to even the score, and in the end, the Azerbaijani lost with a score of 6:5.
The Azerbaijani wrestler was considered the undisputed favorite in his weight category, but you should never underestimate your opponent.
