On August 10, in Paris, the final boxing matches took place at the 2024 Olympic Games. Representatives of the Uzbekistan team won two more gold medals, bringing their total gold medals in the men's competition to five.
On the tournament's last day, finals were held in the men's weight categories up to 57 kg and over 92 kg, as well as in the women's weight categories up to 57 kg and 75 kg.
The winner in the men's 57 kg weight category was the Uzbek Abdumalik Khalokov. For the 24-year-old boxer, these were the first Olympic Games; he is also the current world champion. In the final, Khalokov defeated the Kyrgyz boxer Munarbek Seyitbek by unanimous decision of the judges. Notably, during the tournament in Paris, both boxers had the same coach—Akmal Khasanov, the coach of the Uzbekistan team. He agreed to help Seyitbek based on friendly relations between the two countries, as the Kyrgyz boxer's personal coach could not come to Paris. However, in the final, Khasanov was the corner man for the Uzbek boxer.
In the men's super-heavyweight category, Bakhodir Jalolov won, becoming a two-time Olympic champion. In the final, the 30-year-old Uzbek boxer defeated the Spaniard Ayoub Ghadfa by unanimous decision of the judges.
The men's Uzbekistan team won 5 out of 7 possible gold medals at the 2024 Olympics. China has 3 golds and 2 silvers in the women's program. Cuba, Algeria, Ireland, and Ukraine each won one gold medal. The Kazakhstan team, which had the most boxing representatives alongside Uzbekistan, won two medals—silver and bronze.
The Uzbekistan team won 8 gold medals in Paris, 5 of which were in boxing, and one each in wrestling, judo, and taekwondo. For Uzbekistan, this is the best Olympics in history; previously, the maximum number of gold medals won by Uzbek athletes was in Rio in 2016, where they won 4 golds. Over the past 7 Olympics, Uzbek boxers won 5 gold medals, and in Paris, they won the same number in one Olympics.
