On July 12, an exciting match took place at the Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium in Yerevan between the women's national teams of Armenia and Bulgaria as part of the qualifying round for the 2025 European Championship. Despite significant efforts, the Armenian footballers lost to their opponents with a score of 1:3.
From the first minutes of the match, the Bulgarian players showed themselves to be an experienced and well-coordinated team, which was reflected in the scoreline. Victoria Petrova opened the scoring in the 13th minute, and Lilia Karaivanova doubled her team's lead by scoring the second goal in the 26th minute.
Despite the difficult situation, the Armenian players continued to fight. The second half of the match was played with increased intensity, and Ani Safaryan's goal in the 75th minute inspired the Armenian team to new achievements. However, towards the end of the match, Lorina Yaneva scored the third goal in the 90+1 minute, ending the game with a 3:1 in favor of Bulgaria.
Thus, the Armenian team, led by coach Marina Baghdasaryan, could not overcome the experienced and disciplined Bulgarian team. Nevertheless, the game showed the growth of professionalism of the Armenian footballers and gives hope for future successes in international competitions.
