Iraqi judoka Sajjad Ghanim Sehen, who was set to compete in the Paris Olympics, tested positive for anabolic steroids and has been suspended from the competition. He was supposed to face Sharofiddin Baltabayev from Uzbekistan in the first match. This is the first doping case at the 2024 Olympics.
Sajjad Sehen was scheduled to compete on Tuesday in the 81 kg category. However, he has been temporarily suspended. Now, his opponent Baltabayev will advance to the next round of the competition without a fight.
Sajjad Sehen has the opportunity to appeal his temporary suspension in the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
